John (Jack) Forster

Jack first played cricket for Tatura as an eleven year old in the 1957/58 season when he played a handful of games when the U17 team was short of players.
Jacks active involvement with the club has spanned 35 years during that time he has served as President, Vice president and Treasurer. He played a large part in the building the clubrooms during his time as President. He also was a founding member of the KDCA junior executive a committee he served on for nearly 15 years and earned him Life membership of the KDCA in 2000
Jack elected to join the colts much to the annoyance of his older brother and Uncle who played for the A’s. However he moved to the A’s in 1962-3 after Jack King talked him into it. Jack retired from cricket in 1977, until Doug Pyke talked him into coaching when the U14 competition was commenced in the KDCA in 83/84. Jack coached two years of U14 and one year of U16 with the teams going through all three seasons undefeated. He then came out of retirement in 85/86 at age 39 again with Doug Pykes' coercion to play with his son. He then retired permanently at age 48 after winning two more flags in B Grade and B Reserve.

Jacks highlights include playing in the last Tatura Association grand Final with the winning Tatura A’s. Playing in Tatura’s first KDCA A grade flag in 1969 and being involved with the building of the clubrooms
