Ron Normington

Ron joined the club in 1947 and had a playing career of 31 years which is quite an accomplishment.
Ron played 121 games from 1965 onwards but he had played for 16 years prior to that. So if we average it out to approximately 12 games per season for the 16 years prior to 1965, Ron may have played in excess of 300 games for the club.
Ron is remembered as being a player who made the best of his ability by training hard. He was a dogged batsman who refused to surrender his wicket and was often relied on to hold an innings together. Ron was also a useful slow bowler.
Ron like many of the Life Members was at the club during the Tatura Association years, in fact Ron played in three different competitions with the club, The SCA, TCA and KDCA.

Rons highlights include the premierships and being part of the TCA's winning Bendigo Country Week side in 1958. Another highlight was a game against Lancaster in 1967 when Ron took the bowling honors with figures of 9 wickets for 5 runs including a hat trick.
