John Ranson

John played senior cricket for Tatura from 1965 to 1982 with three years of juniors prior to that. John also coached the club in the late eighties and mid nineties.
John served the club in an official capacity for over 15 seasons including terms as President and Secretary. John was President of the club during a difficult period when the clubs on field success had declined and several players had left to play in the SCA. However he was able to guide the club through those problems and also coached the junior sides that provided so many players to the premiership teams of the eighties.
It should also be noted that John won the best clubman award five times in eight seasons, this is a very good indicator of the work John put into the club during the seventies
