Ken McInness

Ken McInness played with the club during the glory years of the Tatura Cricket Association and played in six straight premierships with Tatura A. During that time he also served the club in the dual and demanding role of Secretary Treasurer for six seasons. Ken is remembered as a hard worker around the club.
During his playing career Ken was regarded as a gentleman cricketer who loved the game and played as an all rounder who could bat reliably anywhere in the order and was more than a handy bowler.
Ken was famous for carting his teammates to and from games in his Essex soft top. In those days a lot of the roads were dirt and very corrugated, Ken's theory was that if you traveled at a high enough speed you only touched the top of the corrugations and so smoothed out the ride. Not all his teammates agreed.
Afternoon teas were a highlight in those years and Ken was renowned for his love of a cup of tea. Another Life Member tells the story that Ken held the record for the number of cups of tea, fifteen cups, consumed in the afternoon break
