Robert Hogg

Bob was the first person to be awarded Life Membership of the club, he was awarded the honor in 1950. The honor was bestowed at the Annual meeting on the 8/9/1950. The club minutes recorded the following motion.

"Moved Mr T. Gooke seconded Mr D. Bock
That Mr R. Hogg be elected a Life Member of the club and a letter be written in appreciation of his service to cricket on and off the field.

Officially Bob Hogg was President of the club for only three seasons, however these years spanned the second World War. While the club was in recess during the war he was the unofficial President and played a leading role in organizing games against the Army camps. He was also instrumental in getting the club up and running after the war and played a large part in the reformation of the SCA.
Bob was a member of the club during its glory years in the SCA through the 20's and 30's. The club won its first two SCA flags in 1931/32 and 33/34. Bob played a leading role both with bat and ballthroughout those seasons.
